This song is from the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, which I saw when I was a maybe 8 and have totally adored since then. Besides the fact that the story is just amazing (really, you have to watch it if you haven’t already), the songs in it are gorgeous. They’re either super fun to sing along to, super deep, or both, and I just adore every single melody on the soundtrack.

I’m actually not sure if this song is my favorite, but it is the one I’ve listened to most lately (not sure why, just have), so it’s the one I’m sharing with you today. :D

What’d you think of the song? Have you ever seen Spirit? What would you say is the best soundtrack ever? And I know this is a lot of questions, lol, but here’s one to make it writing-related: is there a certain place where your character feels like they belong? Comment me!

Oh, quick announcement: it is once again Tag Week on Summer Snowflakes! *insert cheers and confetti* However this time, I’m only doing three tags: two on Wednesday and one on Friday. Can’t wait to share them with you guys! :D

  1. WHY DO MOVIES WITH HAPPY ENDINGS STILL MAKE ME CRY DX

I knew coming into this that I was going to leave with my heart in two pieces, and yet here I am. -sigh-. SPIRIT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY SO HARD. I love it so much but it's soo saad. And this song just made me remember that. -cries for hours- UGHH the music breaks my feels. Dx

And GASP-- now that I think about it, this song is kind of perfect for a couple characters in my story. Involving magic and siblings and discovering one's origin. :D

    1. YES. It's a glorious movie, but there are definitely heart-wrenching moments *not sure whether to put a smile emoji or a sad one here...*

Awesome! I love magic and siblings and origin discovery, lol. Seriously though, that sounds great, especially if it can be matched with this song. :D

  2. I really liked this song, so thank you for sharing! I don't think I've watched Spirit, but I'm fairly certain my younger sister was watching it at a friend's house a few weeks ago (I had to physically drag her). I think I would suggest it for our next family movie night, but a 7 year old girl+2 15 year old girls+ two parents who don't like animated things+ a 13 year old boy= very much indecision. We generally end up with wildlife documentaries.

    1. No problem! Glad you liked it! :D

Hehe, yeah, I can see how that would be difficult! But it really is a great movie, and if your youngest sister can handle emotional moments, it still might be a good choice. :)

  3. I LOVE THIS SONG. Actually, when I was younger, I decided I would watch Spirit every day for an entire summer, and I made it about two weeks in before scheduling conflicts ruined that goal. But I think I would have done it, if I had the time. I listen to the soundtrack so much--it's really great for writing to, and singing along, and everything. It's one of my top favorite soundtracks (I think my other favorite would be the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, the one by the original London cast--not the new one).

Hmm, as for the main character in my work in progress, she's lost her home and she's not sure she belongs anywhere. Actually, she spends most of the book trying to piece together the remainder of her family even though she has no clue where to go. So this song is great for that. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for commenting on Out of Coffee, Out of Mind!

    1. That is a worthy goal. If I didn't already know scheduling conflicts would ruin it for me, I would totally try that, lol
YES, I KNOW. I use it for writing and chilling and basically everything too!
Cool, I haven't heard that, but I just checked out some of it. The orchestra's really nice! :D

Wow, that sounds difficult (but awesome to read about). Glad it worked for your character! :D And you're totally welcome!

  6. Aw, this is such a cool song! :') I've never watched "Spirit," but I *might* have heard of it before (I just Googled it, and it looks vaguely familiar)! Thanks for sharing this! :')
I used to adore the Hannah Montana movie soundtrack, and I also liked The Lion King soundtrack too. XD Other than that, I don't listen to that many soundtracks! Would this be your favourite soundtrack? :D

Those are both great too! I used to listen to Hannah Montana ALL THE TIME, lol.
Hmm, I don't know if it's my favorite (I also love the Hobbit, and Thor: The Dark World, and Narnia soundtracks... you get the picture. :p) But it's definitely one of them. :D
