Hey guys, I am back for good this time and so excited to be here! I had an awesome, much-needed break and am ready to get back to blogging with some fresh ideas, new motivation, and hopefully less stress. :)

 Thanks to the survey answers I got at the beginning of the year, there will be some changes to Summer Snowflakes. The renovated design is obvious (speaking of, what do you guys think? I’m still playing around with it and honestly considering switching back to the old one, so any feedback and/or suggestions would be much appreciated), but I’m also going to be doing some of my posts a little bit differently.

 One of the most common survey answers was that people wanted to see less of Melodic Mondays. Honestly, this didn’t surprise me, and it was something I’d thought about changing anyway because, as much as I adore music, that’s never what I wanted my blog to be about. I started my blog to talk about reading and writing and my thoughts and opinions on, well, everything. But I ended up without much time for blogging, and handing out a weekly YouTube video was a lot faster than coming up with a full post. To be honest, I still don’t have enough time to do more than one long post per week on this blog, however, instead of posting a music video every Monday, I’m going to start doing linkups, tags, and/or quick writing updates at the beginning of the week. Something that’s still quick enough for me to get it up on time, but different enough that you guys don’t get bored, lol.

 That doesn’t mean that I’m stopping Melodic Mondays completely though. Like I said, I love music and I love sharing it, especially as it relates to writing, so I will still gush about a few of my favorites. I’ll just lessen the posts to once or twice monthly instead of every week. :)

 Also, several people asked to see more book reviews on this blog. Because I already have a blog where I review books and, as I said, I only have time to do one long post on this blog a week, I probably won’t change the amount of book reviews I do on here. But if you really do want to know more about what I’m reading, you can check out Verbosity for full reviews and my Goodreads account for mini-ones. :)

 Well, that’s about all for the changes I’m making. Comment below to let me know what you think of my plans and how you like the new design! As much as I blog for myself, I blog for all of you too, so I’d love to get your opinions on where I intend to take this project in 2016. :)

    I was totally like "OH MY PANIC I DON'T KNOW THIS SITE STRANGER DANGER HELP HELP HELP" and then it was like "Oh hey Alexa has a chill new blog design! :D" I do really the header, though. It is incredibly lovely. (Although, if you are looking for suggestions... a) I would not use Times New Roman as your blog post font; I think a Sans Serif font would match better with the rest of your blog design. b) your profile picture should be matchy and I know you've probably thought of that but it is blue and gray and now your blog isn't D:. And c) Perhaps cut down the "popular posts" at the bottom to just five? It just seems like a lot.) I gotta say, that pink and gray is really working for me. :D I hope you decide to keep it!

    Also, thanks for the update on the changes. I look forward to another update soon. :D

      lol, it is weird when bloggers you've been going to forever change design. Glad you realized it was still me before leaving, hehe :)

      And yeah, I did make a mental note about the profile picture thing, but I don't want to change it until I'm sure I'll keep the new design. So I guess if/when I change my profile picture, you'll know that I intend to keep this design, lol

    Welcome back!!
    I hate to be the first one to say it, but I do miss the old design. This one IS pretty gorgeous, but I just prefer the other. I'm really opposed to change, though, so perhaps it's just me. xD It is so pretty, though, that if you decide to keep it I'll get used to it for sure. :D Although maybe you could make the line under your blog title at the top bold or something? I don't know, it's just kind of hard to read. :)
    But anyway. Enough of that. Glad you're back! I'm looking forward to what's coming! :D

      Don't be sorry! I definitely wanted to get everyone's opinion on this, and tbh, I really like my old design too. Like I said in the post, I'm not 100% sold on this one, but I do think it's pretty, so I want to give it a chance before I scrap it completely. Guess we'll both wait and see if it grows on us. :)

    WELCOME BACK. I'VE MISSED YOUR BLOGGING VOICE. *happy dance*

    I really like the new blog design, and I'm excited about all your blog posts to come. For feedback on the design, I think I would second Heather on maybe updating your profile picture to something that matches color-wise, and also maybe avoiding Times New Roman as your header font. Also, the byline under your blog name is a little hard to read in a couple places, so it might help if you changed the font color? But I REALLY REALLY like what you've done, and it would still look wonderful even if you didn't change anything. :D

Like I told Heather, I'm waiting to see if I get used to this theme (honestly, it's a little weird to open my blog page and see this instead of my old design :p), and if/when I do, I'll go ahead and make a change with my profile picture.

    Hello! I'm new. I started reading your blog in December, and have been (anxiously) awaiting your return. So glad you're back!
    I totally respect that you want to blog less. I just want you to know your blog post are the highlight of my week.
    I'm sad you'll be cutting down on Melodic Mondays. I don't feel comfortable searching the web for secular songs, and your blog was a nice way to find them.
    But I'll love your blog whatever type of post you do.

    OH MY GOODNESS! I jumped to your blog via an email notification and for a minute had no clue where I was. But then I realised! THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL, ALEXA! THE PINK! THE PINK! It is gorgeous! Of course, it is not at all like your old theme, and might take time to get used to, but it is extremely very beautiful, and really shows (to me, at least) the effort and hard work you put in to ironing out the kinks in it. :D

    I am very happy you are back; this excites me very much. XD I can't wait to see all your new ideas and changes come into existence. :D <3
