So, let’s talk about my (current) favorite fictional siblings.

*unintelligible fangirl screaming* I ADORE THEM. THEY ARE WONDERFUL. I’VE SEEN THE MOVIE TWICE AND AHAHAHA THEY ARE JUST AWESOME.

*clears throat. attempts to compose self*

I normally have a way of doing these posts, right? Like, there’s a structure and a point, and... Right, yeah. I remember now.

Okay.

So, quick warning, this post is going to get a little spoilery. I’ve kept out most of the major plot twists, but there were a couple things I just had to mention. So. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, continue at your own risk.

Though I highly recommend you see the movie, then come back here to fangirl with me. But you know, that’s just my opinion. ;)

So... Pietro.

I’ve talked about him on my blog once before, but I really adore him so let’s just talk about him again. Okay? Okay.

Bae is HILARIOUS. Almost every line out of his mouth had me rolling laughing (well, not really, cuz I was in a theater. But you get what I mean). Pietro was Sass Master, like seriously, I’ve only seen a few others who can sass with such brilliance and who have such hilarious reactions.

He was like, "Yup."
To discuss other aspects of his personality, Pietro struck me as a very take-action kind of guy. He couldn’t stand still for long, was always dashing around to save people or help his sister or occasionally injure an Avenger. He also seemed very loyal: he was always there when his sister needed him and his main goal was to save his country from foreign forces. Also kill the Avengers, but he at least had a reason for that, and honestly, it was one I could almost get behind.

But not really. Because, you know, Avengers are the best.

As I said the last time I talked about him, the things that drew me to his character were his sarcastic sass, his loyalty, and his genuine love for his sister and his country. He may have started out on the wrong side, but I mean the dude agreed to undergo painful and possibly fatal experiments so he could be strong enough to beat back the forces that oppressed his people. So really. That’s gotta say something great about his character.

Next up...

Honestly, since her brother stole the show so much, I didn’t actually notice Wanda a lot until I got to see the movie the second time (sorry about that, dear). But once I did, I discovered that she’s kind of incredible too.

Wanda has a much quieter personality. While her brother is totally action-oriented, she’s... well she’s not exactly diplomatic. But when they did have negotiations, she was the one who did all the talking. He just sassed at every available opportunity.

Sorry. I’m focusing now. That sass was awesome though.

Anyway.

To a certain extent, Wanda definitely relied on her brother, however that didn’t make her useless in a fight. When it came down to the battles, her powers (which she too received via possibly-fatal experiments, all to protect her country. Just throwing that one out there) were amazing. Rather than speeding through and throwing punches at everything, Wanda’s fight style was more reflective of her personality: it was calculated, careful, and more defensive than offensive. Her telekinesis was remarkable to watch, almost like a dance, and as strongif not more soas any of the other Avengers’ when it came down to sheer power.

Plus, she didn’t use that power for personal gain; she used it to help save her country, protect fellow citizens, and again, occasionally attempt to murder an Avenger.

Like I said when I talked about Pietro a month ago, you could just see how much the twins genuinely cherished each other, even though they never said a word about it. For most of the movie, there just wasn’t one without the other. And they worked so well together: they shared a goal, fought together, watched out for each other, and even managed to make a couple of sibling jokes along the way.

Seriously, guys, they were adorable.
Together, the Maximoffs are pretty hard to beatas siblings and in a fight. I mean, at one point, they actually took down the Avengers (well, technically Ultron helped, but the two of them alone delivered quite a blow). They were powerful, brave, and not total idiots, which I really appreciated as the younger generation is often portrayed as such. Sure, they made mistakes, but as soon as they realized that, they put all else aside to rectify them. They leapt at the chance to protect their people and they put the safety of the citizens before everything.

Though they began the movie as antagonists, they weren’t into world domination or anything like that. At their cores, I think they just wanted to protect their world, and they were willing to do anything to ensure its safety.

Another gif, just cause, you know, they're kind of wonderful.
So... have you seen Age of Ultron? Did you enjoy watching the Maximoffs as much as I did? Who’s your favorite Avenger? Comment me!

  1. :O SQUEEEAK. DKALFJSKLD. I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS. BUT SOME OF MY FAMILY HAVE AND THEY ARE LIKE TELLING ME ABOUT IT AND. I am QUITE excited to watch it. THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT POST BTW. :") This was actually the first time that I have heard of the Maximoff twins, but djafkls I will be looking out for them when I watch Age of Ultron eventually. XD Tell me - did you like it better or less than the first Avengers? Because everyone is saying yes and no and. I will just have to see for myself, but I am interested to hear what you think. XD :D
This is off topic, but. MY FAVOURITE PART OF AVENGERS 1. Oh my land, it never gets old; when Hulk is chasing Black Widow and there's that moment in the movie where you see her running and then him getting bigger and bigger as he catches up to her behind her. Ahaha, that always freaks me out in a good way. XD I love that part, lol. XD Do you have a favourite part of Avengers 1, if you have seen it?
My favourite Avenger . . . argh, this is so tough. O_O I am always asked this. But... probably... *gulps with uncertainty* Thor? Probably because I enjoyed both Thor movies immensely (they were hilarious), more than the Iron Men's (Man's? XD ) and Captain America (1, I've only seen number 1 XD ). What is YOUR favourite Avenger? :'D

    1. THANK YOU! AND YES WATCH IT. WATCH IT AND THEN TELL ME YOU WATCHED IT SO WE CAN FANGIRL TOGETHER BECAUSE I KNOW YOU WILL LOVE THE TWINS BECAUSE THEY ARE WONDERFUL.
      Anyway.
I did like it better than the first Avengers. The first one was fun, but there wasn't much... plot to it. The whole thing was really straightforward. This one had a lot more development, both of characters and story.
Wow, yeah, that is a great scene! Hmm... my favorite part of the first Avengers would have to be either Hawkeye and Black Widow's fight, or the first scene featuring Thor and Loki, when they're talking on that cliff. One is just an awesome fight scene, and two, because I just love those guys. And that scene between the brothers is brilliant. And hilarious.
I LOVE THOR. I DON'T EVEN LIKE IRON MAN. THOR IS WONDERFUL AND HIS MOVIES ARE HYSTERICAL. YES.
I'm actually not sure. Maybe Thor or Captain America.

    2. AHHH. I SHALL. DKJAFSLKDA. I'M SURE I WILL, I'M SURE I WILL. THEY SOUND AMAZING. DJAKFLAKS.
Did you? Ah, now that you mention it, that is kind of true! As awesome as it was, now that I think about it, it seemed like it had no plot. O_o But yes, that sounds really good. :D
YESSSSS. Gosh, that scene was great; the fighting was like woah. XD I actually can't... remember the first bit with Thor and Loki talking. I am going to look out for that next time I watch it, bahaha. I can't believe I don't remember that. XD
YES. OH MY GOSH. AREN'T THEY. THEY ARE SO AWESOME. :") And I agree; I only liked Iron Man 3 (but not even close to how much I liked the Thors). :X Have you seen both Captain Americas?
Ahh, yes! It is so hard to choose! They are both brilliant. :D

    3. It is good. Like the best. I'm going to stop before the fangirling kicks in again. ;)
It's that scene where they're on a cliff or something, right after Thor snatches Loki out of the plane. And Thor tries to convince his brother to come home, but then Ironman flies into Thor before he can finish.
YES I'VE SEEN THEM BOTH. I LOVE THE SECOND ONE ESPECIALLY, BUT THE FIRST ONE IS GREAT TOO.
I've only seen the first two Ironmans, but I didn't like them that much so I never watched the third.
      Haha, yes, they are! :D

  2. THESE TWO ARE MY FAVORITE OF ALL THE FAVORITES I CANNOT EVEN WITH THEM. GAH.

    So many feelings.
    Ahem.
    *sobs*
As you can see, I really do love these two. I'm a sucker for good and close sibling relationships and they really stole the show for me. And Pietro. Sass-Master is the perfect name for him. New favorite. xD

  4. *sniffles* BUT I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I watched Age of Ultron again yesterday and I was just like lurve lurve lurve lurve them... And yet like... Like I totally see where you're right on all accounts, but I was sort of thinking about how Pietro's fate was kind of... necessary. Like it's horrible and stuff, because you're so right. They cherish each other, they're adorable, amazing, we love the heck out of them in every way... But Pietro protected Wanda. Always. He was the one who took action so she didn't have to—and I think because he sometimes took her out of the limelight in that way, she never really developed her powers the same way. And so for her, the end isn't just a huge tragedy, but it's a huge changing point, because instead of relying on someone to protect her, she has to get up, get out, and avenge the person she loved most of all in the entire world ever.

    I dunno. I like it. :D

    1. YES YES YES. THEY ARE SO AMAZING!
Hmm, I hadn't thought of that before, and you're right. It will definitely be a huge changing point for her.
BUT STILL. SASS-MASTER, THOUGH. *dissolves in weeping*

  5. I love love loved Age of Ultron. It was amazing. I also love Pietro and Wanda. My problem with their film portrayal is that according to the original Marvel Universe they're not actually twins. Pietro is older than Wanda by more than a few minutes. Also they are mutants and Magneto's children which is my favorite part about them. They're also shown in X-Men: Days of Future Past which I'm not sure how the studios are getting away with. XD

    1. Really? I don't actually know much about Marvel outside of the movies, but that's an interesting fact. I wonder why they changed it.
Okay, that part I actually did know. Guess they're just supposed to be different universes. *shrugs* Hollywood explanations.

    2. I think it has something to do with Fox owning the X-men and Disney owning the rest of Marvel lol--which I hope gets fixed. It would just be epic to have Magneto with his two kids in one movie.

    3. Yeah, haha, it would just be easier for everyone to be in the same place. And I haven't actually seen movies with Magneto, but I think it would be cool to see more of the Maximoff family. :)

  6. AAAAAAHHHH I LOVE THIS POST MY INNER FANGIRLING IS DYING I CANT EVEN

They are like my favorite sib-ship of all time<3 I love Pietro and his sass (YES) and Wanda with her telekinesis. Did you know Elizabeth Olsen worked with a dance/movement choreographer to get it right? No wonder it was dance-like. I watched the movie like three times so my inner fangirl and my outer fangirl and I all adore this post:)
