Tag Week: 777 Challenge

Hey All! First tag of the week is the 777 Challenge from the hilarious Heather over at Sometimes I’m a Story. Thanks Heather!

Ze Rules (or really Ze Rule):

  1. Go to page 7 of your work-in-progress, scroll down to line 7, and share the next 7 lines in a blog post. Once finished, tag 7 bloggers to do the writing challenge themselves on their blogs.

If you’ve been hanging around here for a while, you know I actually have several works in progress, hehe. But for this challenge, I decided to use my CampNaNo project, What’s Real, a character-driven teen spy thriller.

We race back through the compound, Hawk in front with his weapons at the ready. Only one guard remains from our earlier combat, and Hawk takes care of him with a bullet to the chest.
Outside, the sun’s beginning to rise over the buildings, turning the sky an orangish, golden-pink.
We’re almost out of time.
I put on an extra burst of speed, and Hawk and Shorty follow suit. We hit our starting point just before the golden ball breaches the roof.
“Beam us up, Scotty, “ I joke as “Mission Complete” flashes over our helmets.

Not sure what you got from the manuscript based on that, lol, but I hope you enjoyed it. I’m kinda lazy right now, plus this tag was forever ago, plus I have to go to work in like an hour, so I’m not gonna tag anybody for this one. However, if you want to do it, leave a comment below saying you will, and then send me your post when you do! I’d love to read you guys’ manuscripts.

Until tomorrow, readers!

  1. Ahh, that is so awesome! XD It sounds like such a cool novel that you have written - good job! How is Camp NaNo going for you (or, how did it go)? This is so cool, and it sounds really cool too - thank you for sharing! :')

    1. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
It's going pretty well. I've almost reached my goal of 10,000, and if I stay on track today and tomorrow, I'll make it just in time :)

    2. That is TERRIFIC! Well done! :") Keep at it; you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eeek, this is very exciting!
No, but I did try it last year in April as well as this year in April, but for some reason, it just didn't work out for me. XD I really wasn't motivated, and it wasn't the same! Weird. BUT, I do NaNoWriMo (this year will be my fourth) and LOVE IT, so. Maybe it's just that I get motivated at the end of the year? XD Have you ever done NaNoWriMo?

Hehe, yeah, maybe that's it. :) And yes, I've done it every year since 2011! Do you already know what you're going to do this year? I don't, but I've got a million ideas.

Really? :O Awesome!!! Do you want to be buddies on there? No obligations! :D
Yes, I do have *one* idea, at least, but it's hardly planned at the moment (it has a secret Pinterest board, though!). If I get a better idea between now and November, I won't do it, but for now, I am going to go for that idea. XD
Do you?! That is always good! :O Any that look promising for NaNo? :D

    5. THAAANK YOU!!! :D
Sure! My username is artist421. What's yours?
Cool! And hehe, yes, like all of them! :p I can't decide which one I like best! I'll probably look through my massive document of ideas and pick one closer to October. :)

    6. :D <3
AWESOME! I just tried searching that on there, but nothing's coming up, so, I've just messaged you my username, and, if you'd like, maybe you could try searching for me! XD
Argh, that is so awesome! I am always starved for ideas; that is so great you have so many! :D

    7. I couldn't find you either! Are you on the regular NaNo or the young writers site?
Hehe, yeah, it's awesome! But so difficult to choose because I adore them all!

    8. Hmm, the regular, what about you? Ooh, I found you on CampNaNoWriMo (!!!) . . . buuuut you can't have buddies on there. :/
It must be, it must be! How exciting NaNoWriMo is! XD

    9. Oh, that's probably why. I'm on the young writers site. Although *gasp* I just realized that this year, I'll be 18 and have to join the big people's game. OMW THAT IS INSANE.
      Yeah, that's probably why.

    10. Really? :O But, you can be 13 years old to join the regular NaNo (I was)! I remember a couple of years ago, my friend (who was 12) tried joining NaNoWriMo, but they said she couldn't because she wasn't 13 yet. So, you could totally join it! :)
      Yeah, that's probably why. :/

    11. I know, I just didn't want to join the regular NaNo, lol. But the Young Writer's is only for 17 and under, I think. So yeah, I'll have to head over this year.
I'm not gonna join it yet, but when it comes near time for NaNo, I definitely will! We can be writing buddies then :)

  2. I feel like I just read a Star Trek/Avengers combo just now. xD It looks like you gave us a snippet of adventure and closure, though, and that's intriguing. Thanks for sharing with us, Alexa, and thanks for doing the tag!

    1. Wow, really? Thank you! That's awesome! :D
Well, haha, yeah, that's just because page 7 conveniently happened to be the end of the first chapter. :)
No problem! Thanks for tagging me! :)
