Top Ten Tuesdays: Top Ten OTPs

Hey there! Didn’t expect to see me again, did you? Well, I figured no time like the present to get started on my new plans, and every fangirl loves to gush about her OTPs. So.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Out of their prompts for this week, I chose to talk about:

My Top Ten OTPs

1. Anakin and Padme from Star Wars

I feel like I may have mentioned them before. Maybe more than once. *shrugs* Oh well.

2. Peeta and Katniss from The Hunger Games

I’d need a whole post (maybe a series of them) to explain everything I adore about these two. Perhaps a future Shipping Saturday will feature them.

3. Arman and Glacia from Resonance

I don’t have a pic for these two (if anyone has fanart, that would be fantastic), but seriously, they are adorable. Their dynamic is so strong, so cute, basically beyond perfect, and godsofolympus I just adore them. (somewhat more coherent review of the book they’re featured in can be found here)

4. Laurie and Jo from Little Women

Yeah. 150 years after its publication, and I’ll still insist they were meant to be.

5. Chase and Ellie from The Revised life of Ellie Sweet

These two, though. Chase is a brilliant mix of the best-friend-love-interest and the mysterious-bad-boy and I ship it so... freaking... hard. (which reminds me,  I really need to read the second book).

6. Miri and Peder from Princess Academy

Again, no actual art, but these two are really quite cute. Plus, I’m a sucker for the old childhood-best-friends-fall-in-love storyline.

7. Alexander and Eliza from the Hamilton Musical:

It counts because the musical is based on a book, and if their songs together don’t give you feelings, I don’t know what will.
8. Winter and Jacin from Winter

So all the couples in this series are ridiculously cute together, but these two take the crown in my opinion. And I can’t even explain why because spoilers galore, but they make me feel like this whenever I read their scenes together:

9. Laura and Almanzo from Little House on the Prairie.
So this is kind of weird, because they too were real. But they’re actually quite adorable together. Like, just read the books where they’re courting and see if you don’t feel fuzzies.

I dare you.
10. Joseph and Mary

Yes, another real couple. And for some reason, I feel weirdest about this one. But (aside from Anakin and Padme), these two are my OTP beyond any other OTP because of the way they’re depicted in The Nativity Story (and it counts because The Nativity Story is based on the Bible. So there).

So 3 out of 10 of these were actually real couples. I don’t know what that means about me, but I feel like it’s an interesting observation.

Another interesting observation, this was actually harder than I thought it was going to be, because there are a lot of couples that I ship, but not very many that I would label OTPs, like THESE TWO ARE FLIPPING ADORABLE AND I LOVE THEM AND THEY SHOULD LOVE EACH OTHER AND THEY ARE MEANT TO BE FOREVER AND EVER. Most of them are more like, yeah, you’re cute while I’m reading, but I’ll forget you even existed in like two days. IDK why. Guess I’m just not very romantic. :p

Anyways, what do you all think about these couples? Have any other favorites to share? Link me to your TTT so I can comment back, and can’t wait to see you in the comments below! :D

  1. ANAKIN AND PADME. *sobs* 'nuff said.

But I agree on Katniss and Peeta, and really, all the ones I'm familiar with. I haven't read Recovery and Resonance, but I really want to. And I have The Revised Life of Ellie Sweet and it's sequel on my kindle--I just haven't tackled them yet. :P

It's good to see you blogging again! :D

    1. BASICALLY </3

Yay! :D And those are all awesome books, so I can't wait to hear what you think of them. :)

      Thank you! :)

  2. I watched The Nativity Story on Boxing day (yeah, we're a weird family) and I really liked it. Mary and Joseph's relationship was depicted SO WELL and it really helped you understand the real Mary and Joseph and what their marriage would have been like. Oh wait! You have a new design and it's wonderful and beautiful and great so well done!!! I have read Princess Academy, but it was so long ago that I've forgotten who Peder was and e everything. But as for Jacin and Winter... naaaawww they're SOOOO cute. (Not quite as cute as Cinder and Kai, tbh). Anyway, lovely post!

    1. Lol, weird is awesome ;) And yes I totally agree and I'm so glad to find another fan!!! The Nativity Story is my favorite Christmas movie <3

Thank you!!! :D I'm not positive it's me yet, but I do kinda like it. :)

Oh, you should read it again! They are really cute <3 And YES. All the couples in Lunar Chronicles are pretty awesome. I think Jacin and Winter are my fav, but they're all pretty cool. :D

Thank you! And thanks for commenting! :)

  3. Anakin and Padme are alright, but I ship Leia and Han like nobody else.

    1. Well, to each their own, haha! :) And Leia and Han are pretty cool. :D

  4. I totally predicted that Anakin and Padme would be there. xD I will once again squeal with you: THEY ARE SO CUTE.
Some of my favorites are Thalli and Berk, from the Anomaly trilogy (which I think I've mentioned before), Flynn Rider and Rapunzel (forever and ever), and Christy and Todd from the Christy Miller series. And actually, now that I'm rereading these books, I've grown to love Sierra and Paul's relationship in the Sierra Jensen series. It's just such a mature, God-centered friendship that takes its time developing into anything more romantic.

    1. Lol, you know me well. ;)
      *squeals extensively* AREN'T THEY THOUGH???!!! <3 <3 <3

You have and they are definitely on my neverending TBR! lol.
OH MY GOODNESS, YES. I love Flynn and Rapunzel so much <3 <3 I should've mentioned them!!!!
Christy and Todd are pretty cute too. They didn't make it into my personal top ten, but they are pretty awesome :D

I haven't read all of the Sierra Jensen's! Only like the first two, I think. And that is awesome! Relationships like that are the best <3

  5. Yes to Katniss and Peeta and to Laurie and Jo and definitely, definitely yes to Winter and Jacin!

Some of the OTPs I ship are Oscar and Jude from I'll Give You the Sun, as well as Pepper and Tony <3

    1. :D :D :D

I haven't read that one. And actually yeah, Pepper and Tony are pretty good for each other (or really, she's pretty good for him, lol. :)

  6. YES to Peeta and Katniss, Miri and Peder, and Winter and Jacin (although I ship ALL the couples in the Lunar Chronicles). Personally, I wasn't for Jo and Laurie, but I loved their friendship :) And I used to ship Chase and Ellie, but after the second book I honestly don't know. You should definitely read it XD

    1. YAY!!! :D

That's fair. :) And really? Okay. I'll hopefully be reading that soon, so I'll let you know what I think then!

  7. I find it interesting you ship Padme and Anakin, because most people don't usually feel like they were a super shippable couple. I don't really have strong feelings about them (but seriously, they weren't as bad as the Internet thinks they were) but still. It is cool you like something unusual as such.

Alexander and Eliza... yes yes yes yes yes eys yes yesyes yesyes yes yes ey esye eys eyes eyes yeyyes yes eyes yes ye esys.

Umm... Lesee... I liked Winter and Jacin but I was really a shipping of Scarlet and Wolf, but in adoration of Cress and the Captain. *nods* Winter and Jacin were my third favorite couple. XD

    These are lovely ships! :D

    1. Yeah, I know a lot of people don't like them, but I unashamedly adore these two *basically melts* <3 <3 <3
      And thanks!

Haha, that's fair. :) Like I said, all the couples in The Lunar Chronicles are pretty fantastic. <3

      Thank you! :D
