So for those of you who don’t know, I’m a big fan of Doctor Who. But my first and forever favorite Doctor is Matt Smith, so for the past like year and a half, I haven’t watched Doctor Who at all because I was in mourning because Matt left. I wouldn’t even watch his last episode; I just lived in some fantasy land where he was the Doctor forever.

I’m sad, I know.

Anyways, this past week I finally watched Matt’s last episode (much to the delight of my family members and fellow whovians) and at the time, it was actually less painful than I thought it would be. I was really feeling rather proud of myself for taking his “death” so well—until I found myself listening to breakup songs on repeat. It was then that I realized my psyche was not doing nearly as well as I’d hoped.

This song has less to do with the actual feel of the episode (except maybe for the fact that Matt was already gone and had been for some time by the time I watched it), but it sounded sad enough to work for me. *goes to mentally cry for a while. eventually returns to finish the post*

Honestly, I have no idea where I’m going with this (it’s kind of a wing-it day), but, so that the last few minutes of your life were not completely wasted, I’ll post a couple of discussion questions: Do you watch Doctor Who too? Who’s your favorite Doctor? Have you ever killed off one of your characters? I’d ask about your favorite (or least favorite?) character deaths, but then there would be spoilers. Ah well. Let’s just talk endlessly about sadness and pain and breakups and death. See you all in the comments.

BTW, I’m doing a sib-ship this weekend with my good friend, Rebecca. So there will be no post from me on Thursday, but you can expect to see us both on Saturday. :)

  1. I love Doctor Who, I discovered it two years ago, and it completely took over my life. Ten is my doctor, but I love all of them. I am still not over any of them really, so I understand. I still cry over the companions and the doctors. Seeing Smith leave was really hard, but Capaldi is really good too.

    1. IKR! Doctor Who is so amazing it basically does take over, lol.
And yeah, I've heard that he's pretty good, so I'll definitely have to keep watching and see for myself. :)

  2. I MISS MATT SO MUCH. He's my favorite Doctor, and I haven't been able to bring myself to watch much Capaldi so far, although I will watch more soon. But gah. *sobs*

    1. SO I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE *sobs with you* I actually haven't watched any Capaldi episodes yet, but I suppose that someday, I shall have to get over my grief.
