Melodic Mondays: He Knows My Name by Francesca Battistelli.

Okay, so this one’s not technically a writing song. I mean, I was listening to it while writing the other day, but that’s not why I decided to post about it. I decided to post about it because I love the message inside it. The message that, whoever you are, the God knows your name, knows your story, knows you. And if you’re His child, if you’ve accepted the gift of His Son, He calls you “Chosen,” “Free,” “Forgiven,” “Wanted,” “Child of the King,” “His Forever,” “Held, “Treasured,” and best of all, He calls you “Loved.”

Let that put a smile on your face.

On a more personal note, this song is particularly meaningful to me because it feels almost like a story-of-my-life kinda thing. I’ve had some self-esteem issues, and sometimes, I just need to be reminded that He, Lord of the universe, knows my name and loves me the way I am. That He, Savior of the world, bothers to look at my heart and see something beautiful when I see nothing worth a piece of crap. That thought is so inspiring, so empowering, what in the world can hold me back after it?

So yeah, I wanted to share this with you, my lovely readers. Writing song or not, this message is something we should all call to mind from time to time.

What do you think of this song? Do you have any actual writing music to share with me this week?
