Melodic Mondays: The Lyric Medley Tag!

So Aimee from To The Barricade tagged me for this about a month ago, and I sincerely apologize for taking so long. You would not believe how difficult this was for me, just how long it took to come up with these answers. I really love music, lol. So there were just too many options.

But without further ado (honestly, there’s been a month’s worth already), The Lyric Medley Tag!

Ze Rules:
  • Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
  • Make a collage that represents your taste in music to go along with with your tag post.
  • List a song for each of the 10 questions below (or make up your own!) and include your favorite lyrics from that song, if you'd like. If you want to explain why you chose that song, that's cool too - go crazy with it!
  • Tag at least 5 bloggers

From left to right and top to bottom: Anthem Lights, Britt Nicole, Skillet, Jonathan Thulin, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Francesca Battistelli

1. A Happy Song/Song That Makes You Wanna Dance

Seriously, this song is amazing and these guys are too funny! Just thinking about it makes me smile.

Top of the World by Anthem Lights

2. A Song That Makes You Cry/The Saddest Song You Know

This song is about as depressing as it gets.

My Immortal by Evanescence

3. A Song From Your Favorite Album

Okay so honest truth, I don’t have one. The most recent time I did have a favorite album was when Skillet’s Awake came out. As much as I love it (because Skillet is amazing), that’s not my favorite anymore because it’s tied for first with about a billion others. Still, I’m gonna go ahead and use this one because I can’t think of any other solid favorites, and I don’t think I’ve talked about them on my blog yet.

Lucy by Skillet

4. A Song from Your Favorite Soundtrack

I don’t really have anything to say about this song, so I’ll just let it speak for itself.

Misty Mountains from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

5. The Last Song You Listened To

So full disclosure, the last song that I just up and listened to was Where The Light Is by Anthem Lights (which is amazing, so hit the link and check it out). But I hadn’t done a Francesca Battistelli one yet for this tag, and she is one of my favorite artists, so I listened to one of her songs while I wrote this post.

Unusual by Francesca Battistelli

6. Your Favorite Lyrics

Again, gonna let these lyrics speak for themselves. Also, check out the full song here.

Pharisee by Jonathan Thulin

7. A Song That You Can Relate To

I relate to this song so much, it's crazy. Also, just had a breakthrough in editing one of my manuscripts! So yippee!!

Breakthrough by Britt Nicole

8. A Rebellious Song/A Song That Makes You Want To Go To War

I don’t know if this necessarily counts as a rebellious song, but I like it and it’s loud and it’s angry. So yeah. Works for me.

Down by Thousand Foot Krutch

9. A Song People Wouldnt Think You Like But You Do

I picked this song because people who know me know I dont like Anberlin. But this one is actually okay.

Stationary Stationery by Anberlin

10. Your Favorite Song/The Song Currently Stuck in Your Head

Like I don’t have one favorite album, I don’t have one favorite song. And at the moment, I actually don’t have a song stuck in my head either. So I’m just gonna go with one of my newest favorites.

Little Toy Guns by Carrie Underwood

And that’s the tag, peoples! Pretty cool, huh? Thankfully, this time I only have to tag 5 people, which I can do.

If I didn’t tag you, please feel free to do it anyway! I love music (as you might’ve guessed, seeing as I have a whole day dedicated to it on my blog) and I’d love to hear about some new, awesome bands!

Speaking of which, what are your favorite bands, lovely readers? What lyrics get stuck in your heads? What songs can you not stop singing? Let’s chat, guys! Comment away!

  1. Skillet, Anthem Lights, Anberlin, and TFK: These are my language. Great pics, all, and I recognized a fair few more of the artists, which was super cool. :)

    1. Thanks! And yes, Skillet, Anthem Lights, and TFK are awesome! Afraid nothing can sway me on Anberlin, though, lol
